4 Containers. No Contractor. Just One Person Who Refused to Live in a Normal House.

West Texas. Middle of nowhere. Four blue containers stacked two-high with lumber battlements on top.

This person saw a castle.

Here's the technical part worth understanding — stacking containers two stories high doesn't just double your space. The corner castings lock together with twist locks, making the entire structure seismically rated and wind-resistant up to hurricane force. That's engineering that traditional wood framing simply can't match at this price point.

The stone cladding isn't decorative either. Each stone is hand-mortared directly onto the container walls — adding thermal mass that keeps the interior cool in 105°F Texas summers without destroying the AC bill.

And that vegetable garden running along the front? This person isn't just living in a castle. They're living off it.
