Something warm and satisfying for a winter day.
Baked Oatmeal.
Use a fruit you love.
2 cups fruit, blueberries, apples, peaches, etc
1/2 cup walnuts
2 cups rolled oats
2 eggs beaten
1 cup milk
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tsp.baking powder
1/4 tsp.salt
1 tsp vanilla
Mix all ingredients together, incorporating fruit and nuts well.
Pour into 8x8 buttered pan
Spread 2 tablespoons melted butter over top for extra richness
Baked at 350°30-35 min..Best enjoyed warm topped with a drizzle of maple syrup.

I wholeheartedly agree..
Worldly things give joy for a moment..
Makes you realize what is really important in life.

I believe that happiness doesn’t come
from wealth or material things.
Happiness comes from the simple things,
and our ability to see them for their purity and enjoy them fully.
Most of us rely too much, basing our happiness on wealth and material possessions – and feel lost without them.
Which, when you think about it, is crazy.
Because none of that brings us happiness.
And we know it ..
So let's bear this in mind during this festive
season and rejoice in the simple act of
giving, not just tangible gifts but sharing kindness
from the heart ..

My first attempt at scones.
Easy and really delicious, I added cinnamon chips instead of crystallized ginger, I'll bet that would be divine as well.
Just the ticket with a warm beverage.
