We are excited to announce that we will be offering DIY Native Garden Kits for sale this spring! 🌿🌿Kits are perfect for those who want to install their own native garden, but don’t know where to start.

Each kit will include an array of native plant plugs, and comes with 50 ready-to-plant seedlings. Choose between our Pollinator Garden Blend or Shade Blend. Kits can be picked up at our office in Narragansett. Our order deadline is April 1, but please note that kits do sell out so we recommend placing your order sooner rather than later! At Native Edible Designs, we want to spread the word about native plants and celebrate their beauty, ecological importance, and enduring history on this land. Each month we will highlight one garden-worthy native and explain why we love it. 🌷🌷

As its name suggests, Monarda “bee balm” is a favorite of pollinators including bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. Its seeds are also a food source for birds in the winter months. Its vibrantly bright flowers come in white, purple, red, and pink. Part of the mint family, bee balm’s flowers and leaves are deliciously fragrant. This plant is easy to grow and spreads quickly. It prefers full sun and moist, well drained soil. One of our absolute favorites!
