White Grass Widow
Olsynium douglasii 'Album'

The most common Grass Widows are violet in color. However, there are those that lack pigment in the tepals. They have been spotted in several locations adjacent to the Spokane River.

Due to mechanical failure, our neighbor won't be plowing us out for awhile. Reminds me of Before Times when we first lived here and parked our car at the bottom of the road and brought up supplies on the toboggan. We had a lot more energy then, and a lot more snow. Looking at the weather, the snow will only melt and shrink, and we'll be able to make it down the hill before you know it...

Ramp season is here. I am starting to see signs for people buying ramps. A simple low impact is just to take a leaf - eaten fresh or dried to use as a seasoning and a great addition to salt. United Plant Savers has lots of information and resources on growing ramps from seed. And we be bringing some seeds to share at gather to grow conference in Virginia this weekend. 🌱
