Join us for Tiny Giants Nature Camp (June 22–26) as we zoom in on some of the smallest—yet most powerful—creatures in the natural world. Campers will shrink down to ant‑size to explore a busy colony, discover the surprising strength of beetles and roly‑polys, and learn the wonderfully weird habits of dung beetles. They’ll also get an up‑close look at native beetles, walking sticks, and lubber grasshoppers in our Butterfly Tampa insect zoo. Happy pollinator week! What a nice turn out of volunteers and interns for the pollinators at Memory Lane Cottage in Tampa Palms as we make improvements in the newly planted pollinator habitat there. From zero butterfly species to 5 species in just 4 months!

Beautiful Stokes' Aster (Stokesia laevis) is a highly adaptable, evergreen herbaceous perennial. It features large, showy, thistle-like purple and sometimes white flowers that attract an many soecies of bees and butterflies. It prefers part shade to full sun and well drained moist soil. It grows to about 1.5 feet tall. It is ideal for borders, mass plantings, or butterfly and mixed wildflower gardens. Evergreen basal foliage provides winter color.

NEW SUMMER HOURS!

Effective Monday, June 8th Little Red Wagon Native Nursery and Butterfly Tampa will be shifting to our new summer hours to help us care for the plants, butterflies, and botanical garden during the hottest months. Stop by during our new schedule and enjoy the beauty of the season.

Butterfly releases are now at noon on Saturdays and Sundays.
