See great advice from Susan Mulvihill on planting garlic this season!! (Hint: plant now, harvest next season!)

I fully intended to do a new video on planting garlic this week. That is, until I walked into the garden a few days ago, where I found Bill putting the finishing touches on his new planting of garlic! Whoops. Garlic is planted in the fall and harvested the following summer. It's not hard to do but there are a few important factors to keep in mind. Fortunately, I can share one of my previous garlic-planting videos with you. Here's a direct link to it on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhjVpRA1BF8.

Its that time of year again!! We are just getting applications for boxes out, our season runs ~April 15-Oct 31 and our opening day (wood chips and soil distribution to boxes) is usually around the end of April, weather dependent.

I have sent applications out to our returning gardeners, and after that we fill new gardener boxes. Typically each year we can get any new members a box (sometimes two!). Please send me a message via the page and I'll send you a garden box application link!

This is not gardening, but its for the elementary school next to our garden -- Grant Elementary!! If you are in the Spokane area and want a tasty treat for the upcoming winter, as well as supporting a great school, please buy some Butter Braids from Grant Elementary by Nov 13th! I will post the link in the comments. This neighborhood school has had teachers, families and a garden program (at one time) in Grant Park Community Garden!! We would LOVE to start the garden program again, and this upcoming season we will focus on community building. Proceeds from butter braid sales go to support the parent teacher group activities of Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM) Grant! These activities include supporting students with snacks and rewards for reading or going on class field trips, as well as fundraisers and events with local neighborhood businesses. The butter braids will be delivered before the winter school break, and we will deliver them to you (there is no shipping/mailing available -- please note that we can't deliver outside Spokane area!!). They will have a cute bag with them too, made by a grant elementary student -- it makes a nice gift!!
