I couldn't be happier with the way this landscape design turned out! This was installed in the fall and has already grown quite a lot! I'm especially happy with the crevice garden which creates an exciting focal point for their outdoor dining area.

This yard was designed so that most zones can live without supplemental irrigation and is going to be an absolute magnet to pollinators and birds. I can't wait to see how it all looks in a couple of years.

Every year I get a few unsolicited offers from lawn care companies to help us remove the brush and get our lawn back in order. Admittedly, running a nursery doesn't leave much time for weeding, so there is certainly room for improvement. However, I really love my wild garden of a yard and have made peace with the fact that to some people find it ugly and unkempt.

Your landscaping choices will probably never be everyone's cup of tea, but as long as they make you happy then that's okay.

We've got some very cool natives right now, including our native Peony, Paeonia brownii! This is a very unusual peony that is almost never available in the nursery trade. Brown's Peony can be found growing in sagebrush steppe and open ponderosa forests. It is very picky about the conditions in which it will grow. It demands nutrient poor gravelly or sandy soil, cold moist winters, and hot dry summers. Lucky for us, we just what it needs to be happy.

Very few gardeners in the world have the conditions needed to grow Brown's Peony, but we do 😁

Additionally, we have Columbia Lily and Cardwell Penstemon and about a million other cool things!
