Hello! Another change to announce, we will meet at Hutton Settlement from now on for April and May. Members usually host summer meetings at their home to share their lovely plants and hard work. 2022 locations TBD. Your flexibility as the club resumes in-person meetings is appreciated! We look forward to seeing everyone this Thursday 4/21 at 5 at Hutton. As driving at night gets harder, it makes sense to meet earlier.

Jan and Tom Jefferson have done so much for the club over the years. We appreciate you! Also, thank you to everyone who signed up to bring refreshments! Loretta has stepped up to head the monthly raffle. Ed and Tom are election officers. We will choose new representatives shortly. Thank you President Marilyn for all your hard work during your tenure during very challenging times.

Looking ahead, Mike will organize the Veteran’s Home planting in May. Please consider volunteering your time. 🇺🇸💙

Remember first in person meeting in 2 years is this Thursday!!!

We will meet 2/17/22 at 4:30 at the new Hillyard Library (across the street from the former library location and the Northeast Community Center). Note the change in location and meeting time.

It has been too long friends. Hope to see you this Thursday!

Wreath making has begun in the greenhouse! We love being able to meet and see each other! Save the date for our Christmas party- Sunday, December 19th at 1 at Jan and Tom’s home. We will try to meet in the spring at the community center or the library.

Seed catalogs are coming in the mail and coming in the Email. Some companies are ending the mailing and offering digital online catalogs. Speaking of seeds, was very interested to find out there is a Global Seed Vault deep within a mountain on a remote island between Norway and the North Pole. You can read about it here:

If you're like me, you are itching to get your hands in dirt and start planting seeds even though it's freezing outside. If you don't have a greenhouse or a grow light set up in your home you can do the next best thing and try "Winter Sowing" which was started by Trudi Greissle Davidoff in 2000. For information on how to "Winter Sow" check out Trudi's website or Google "Winter Sowing" for various sites and videos on all the many ways you can do it!
