Somehow what we’ve been designing made it’s way to California. Binkley Designed will be starting its first custom residence in The Golden State for a great family and UFC fighter with Team Alpha Male.

When we Interviewed the client the question of what style are you after, and their response was “yours”. Honored, excited, and flattered that our brand is making a mark coast to coast.

When we built our first house it was a rush move to design and get it rolling. Isa and I wanted something that fit in our neighborhood but stood out slightly from the rest of the few dozen stock plans the rest of the development has. We cut corners to save money, we’re thoughtful on the layout to maximize living space. We were limited to the amount of sf we wanted to have so in turn are the smallest house on our street and most of the neighborhood.

We had our house re appraised yesterday and come to a suprise our house valued at more than 15% higher than our comps, the closet being nearly 1,000 sf larger than ours.

We built smaller, spent less per sf by using less expensive finishes, but used the unique design and efficient floor plan with easy flow to create value and ultimately capital. As a result creating a higher return on investment then the rest of the builders in the development.

Point being working with a designer or architect is more than just creating your unique home. When thoughtful design meets construction and engineering value can be generated. This is important to understand if you are looking to build or buy a new house. Making the upfront investment of working with a qualified designer pays off, big time.
