Afternoon storm season reminder: leaves and grass clippings are not harmless decoration.

UF/IFAS notes that organic debris like leaf litter and grass clippings should be managed on permeable pavement because it can contribute to clogging. Even on regular paver areas, that same Florida mix of shade, moisture, and yard debris is a good reason to keep joints and edges cleaned up.

Before sealing, True Seal wants the surface cleaned and the joints checked. If sand needs attention, our standard is regular joint sand with water-based stabilization when the job calls for it.

It is less glamorous than a glossy after photo, but this is the stuff that helps the after photo last.

Hernando County keeps a whole Water Awareness series because water habits really do matter here. Around pavers, irrigation overspray is one of those small things homeowners stop noticing until the driveway starts showing patterns: damp edges, recurring dirt, rust-colored staining, or mildew pressure where water keeps hitting the same spot.

Did you know the messy stuff after a Florida storm is not just ugly?

Leaves, grass clippings, and wet debris can sit in paver joints and keep the surface dirty. On permeable paver systems, UF/IFAS warns that organic debris can contribute to clogging, so regular cleanup matters.

Before sealing, True Seal wants the surface cleaned, the joints checked, and problem spots handled first.

Our standard is regular joint sand with water-based stabilization when the job calls for it. Polymeric sand is outside that True Seal standard.

That is our Florida workflow preference, not a claim that every other method is illegal.

Quick local note for Hernando County:

Today is National Senior Citizens Day, and TheBus lists free rides for riders age 62+ with proper validation.

That is worth passing along. If you have a parent, grandparent, neighbor, or customer who uses TheBus, today might save them a few dollars and make errands a little easier.

Small local things like this are easy to miss, but they matter.
