Back to the effort of trying to keep this page active, allow me to take a minute to brag on one of the people that makes the day to day operations run as smooth as they possibly can.
A lot of times when I make a post about a job and say “we,” Ian is a big part of that “we.”
Ian is technically my hired man, but that really doesn’t come close to explaining what he brings to Mighty Mo. He’s been around construction basically his entire life. His dad is a general contractor, and Ian grew up working alongside him. He came into this with a lifetime of experience, common sense, and the ability to figure things out on his own.
Ian is also an Air Force veteran, and that experience shows in the way he works. He’s dependable, willing to take on whatever needs to be done, and doesn’t need somebody looking over his shoulder to make sure it gets finished.
He’s the kind of guy you want working beside you. A good portion of the job isn’t exactly glorious, but there isn’t much he won’t do. He never seems to give it a second thought when it’s time to crawl into the tight attic, handle the dirty part of a job, or take on something nobody is exactly excited about doing. He just gets after it and keeps moving.
Our teamwork actually started long before spray foam. Ian and I play in a band together. He is the bass player and I’m the drummer. Anybody who knows music knows the bass and drums have to lock in with each other. We’ve spent a lot of years building that rhythm section bond, and somehow it carries right over into work. Most days we don’t have to say much. We each know what the other guy is doing, and what needs to happen next to keep things moving.
When I decided I wanted to build Mighty Mo into something I could make a career out of, having somebody like Ian beside me was a pretty big deal. I trust his work, I trust his judgment, and I know when we pull onto a job together that he cares about how it turns out just as much as I do.
Outside of work, Ian is also one of my very best friends. We work together, play music together, and give each other plenty of grief. He is always there when I need a hand with house projects, or to toss a football around and keep my kids occupied.
There are a lot of people behind the scenes who make it possible for me to do what I do, and I plan on introducing some more of them along the way. But when it comes to the guy you’ll most often see standing beside me on a jobsite, that’s Ian.
I’m pretty lucky to have him on the Mighty Mo crew, and this company is better because of what he brings to it.
Give Ian a like…he probably deserves it.
