Meet….. ROCKY! The next generation Official Design Dog is here! 🐕

I could not be more thrilled to have him to accompany me on the design adventures yet to come. Nothing makes me happier, more creative and energized than a confident and silly Chihuahua by my side. I am deeply grateful for him, the best blessing. 🤍

I have been dreaming of this moment for as long as I can remember—and it’s finally here!!! SURPRISE!!!!

I am on cloud 9 to share that my work is FINALLY featured in with the shock of a lifetime that - I’m on the cover!!!!!! 😎

Growing up modestly in the Midwest in the late 80s/early 90s was pretty isolating to begin with, let alone being an only child. I spent most of my time outside of school with my artist Mother listening to music, producing “fashion shows”, crafting or baking treats to surprise my Dad. Both & culturally exposed me by watching old movies and reading elevated magazines such as and AD. It opened up a world that felt glamorous, important and very “me”. I still have every raggedy issue saved.

I have always spent a lot of time on my own. Designing eventually became my way of connecting to people in my own weird way. It is a massive part of my identity.

Sharing my work and peeks into my life to an audience has always meant so much to me. Getting published, being seen on TV, and going “viral” has never been a popularity contest. It’s how I connect. It’s how I reach people. It’s how I find community with fellow design lovers all over the world. And also people that simply appreciate the art of transformation.

Having tools you inspire, entertain and to share this work beyond the walls of my projects… it is deeply meaningful.

This is a moment I will never take for granted. ♥️

Dreams do come true. Keep on keepin on, the universe has your back. 😎

Still one of my all-time favorite bathrooms I’ve ever designed. Believe it or not it’s the FIFTH en-suite bath in this house. Tucked away in a private basement guest suite, I had to make it a dramatic discovery.

One of the first selections I made for the entire 15,000 sf custom home was this black, riveted, freestanding tub. Everything other selection was made on intuition.

Some of my other beloved details…

- Hardwood floors ran through the bathroom (yes, really) 🪵
- Full-length, custom drapery framing the tub 🛁
- The industrial, metal, window inspired shower enclosure (dying to do one in unlacquered brass🤞)
- The real marble tile wall surround, such a splurge and treat to work with. Vivid memories discussing the proposal over the phone w my client while gulping a monster sized margarita in the Los Cabos International Airport. 😅 We decided to go for it 🍹

Wish I could go back and add a wall covering to the dry walled areas above the stone chair rail. But I wish I could go back and tweak every single space I’ve ever designed. 🤷‍♀️

The year was TWENTY SIXTEEN.

I had recently completed designing my first new-build, custom home in entirety. My work inspired many and drew quite the captivated audience.

Everything that happened in the 10 years following? Memoir material. Until then, enjoy these endearing memories. I’m savoring the nostalgia.

2016, it was a time to be alive.

Happily closing out another year and ready to ring in 2026 ✨ I don’t think I’ve ever felt this energized heading into January. The “Year of the Snake” shed so much of what no longer served me, making space for fresh ideas and a renewed passion for my design work.

I’m deeply grateful for the 2026 projects ahead—each one exciting and inspiring, with clients who are kind, humorous, and transparent. A rare blessing, and one I’m happy to start pouring my heart (and talents) into.

But first, a final 2025 post sharing a few peeks at this year’s holiday décor… and a moment of silence for my beloved gold Christmas tree 🙏

After devoting an entire weekend—solo—to assembling, fluffing, sourcing fresh string lights, tinsel, ornaments, and even extra branches from multiple stores, the power at went out during 30-degree weather. Luckily, it returned before nightfall—but the lights didn’t survive the surge, before a single ornament was added.

After several failed revival attempts, I decided my sanity was more valuable than a sparkly gold tree post on IG. You can still catch a glimpse of her during the magical first snowstorm, pre–power outage, in the last two slides. No tears were shed, but it was a revealing experience.

Unplanned can still be beautiful. Good design includes restraint; knowing when to step back is an important part of the beauty.

Cheers to 2026 🥂 For me it will be filled with change, discernment, energy, beauty, courage, laughter, connection, confidence, and lots of love. ♥️

Reminiscing on Holidays past while on a quick break from making sense of the Christmas decor chaos I’ve created this wknd ✨

This delicious holiday confection from years ago still makes me smile. Many happy memories celebrating with friends inside my apartment the year it was painted pink 💞 Everyone should be so lucky to experience living in a space so sweet 🎀

Happy Holiday Season friends, I’m grateful to everyone following these tiny peeks inside my design world ☺️
