I don’t post many photos of my kids… it is just something we don’t do.
That said, we couldn’t be prouder of this kid. We raise naturally forest raised pigs for meat.

Our oldest is the one that cares for them on a daily basis, rotates them in the electrical fencing to provide fresh forage opportunity, and is out there every day. It’s not easy to raise meat the way it should be, but it’s what is best for the animal and for us to consume.

This morning we have babies!
This isn’t our first litter, we learned a really hard lesson a month before. One that had a lot of tears and regret… one that will never be repeated.
So this morning is a morning of 9 healthy piglets. So proud.

We will have roasters available in time for the summer holidays.

We also have two barrows we really need to take to butcher. It’s more than just taking them off the feed bill, it’s also showing our oldest that with hard work, success can be had.
