Last year, this homeowner trusted Howard C Byrd with a long list of interior and exterior repairs that took several weeks to complete. When new issues came up this year, they didn’t hesitate to give us a call again—and that means everything to us.

Another happy customer and one very excited birthday boy 🎉🛠️

was called in to help get this home celebration-ready for a very special 5th birthday—and we made sure everything was completed ahead of schedule.

Our biggest project was assembling this beautiful outdoor playset, creating the perfect backyard surprise for the birthday celebration. 🛝🎂

We also restored the weathered exterior wall off the sunroom by scraping away years of peeling paint, performing cosmetic carpentry repairs, sanding, priming, and finishing with premium exterior paint for a fresh, long-lasting finish.

Inside the home, we refreshed the bathrooms by regrouting tile and applying new silicone around the tubs and toilets, giving the spaces a clean, polished look before guests arrived.

Chapter 3 is officially in the books. 💙

Howie, you’ll never be this little again, and it’s crazy to think you came blowing into my life during one of the most turbulent seasons I can remember. But God knew exactly what He was doing. Your existence became the missing piece that shifted the entire trajectory of my life in all the ways I needed most.

Time has a way of teaching wisdom. Watching your sister grow up showed me just how fast life moves, and because of that, I look at raising you a little differently. I make it a point to be more patient, more present, and soak in every little moment — because I know one day you won’t be my little shadow anymore. The days of you climbing under me on the couch, asking for my help with everything, or wanting to be attached to my hip won’t last forever.

And while that thought tugs at my heart, it also fills me with so much excitement for the incredible person you’re becoming.

At only 4 years old, your comedic flair, your singing, your imagination while building things, and that big bubbly personality already leave me in awe daily. You light up every room you walk into.

And to — God truly saw fit to place this little light in our lives, brightening them in more ways than we could’ve ever imagined.

This chapter may be closing, but the chapters keep moving faster and faster—and I’ve got the best seat in the house.

Hailey, you are a special spirit. You’re kind, funny, athletic, and intelligent, just to name a few of your many qualities. But above all else, you’re an incredible human being. We are truly blessed to call you our daughter.

I’m so excited to see what Chapter 12 looks like—whether it’s watching you fire it up on the softball field or perfect your game on the basketball court.

Just know I’m grateful every day that God brought you into my life. Daddy is so proud of you. I love you more than words in my vocabulary can express.

This week headed back to Jersey City to help a loyal customer restore their beautiful brownstone after some unfortunate winter water damage. 🏚️➡️🏡

Water damage can be stressful, but HCB Handyman Services was on the scene to repair ceilings and resolve electrical issues across several rooms. Garage Transformation Complete 🔨

Today we wrapped up this garage renovation just in time for the upcoming home sale—and delivered ahead of schedule.

This client is a returning customer who we’ve had the pleasure of working with on multiple projects, including painting the front stone wall and staining the rear fence last year. Always appreciate the continued trust.

This garage had a lot of history—it was previously converted into a living space decades ago, so bringing it back to a clean, functional garage took some work:

• Removed old shelving and wallpaper
• Closed off an outdated window that was poorly sealed and causing drafts
• Reframed and installed new sheetrock where framing was exposed
• Repaired extensive wall and ceiling damage
• Removed old carpet remnants and prepped the floor

One of our loyal property clients reached out with an emergency: a severely cracked curb that had been patched multiple times in the past. After a harsh winter, the damage only got worse — and with an insurance renewal on the line, it needed immediate attention.

🔨 Our Solution:We demolished the damaged 8’ x 6’ section and strategically cut out the previously repaired area, replacing it with a new, solid slab (approx. 5’ x 3’). By targeting the problem areas, we helped the client avoid the cost of replacing the entire section — saving time and money.
