If you call a contractor out for a “free estimate,” just understand… free doesn’t mean it costs nothing.
That’s fuel in the truck. Insurance being paid. Hours lost on other projects. Time away from our families. Years of experience pulling into your driveway.
Speaking for all contractors… if you’re just kicking tires with no intention of doing the work, don’t waste the trip.
And don’t get upset when we ask questions over the phone first.
We’re not being difficult, we’re trying to respect our time and yours.
A few honest answers can save everyone a trip.
But if you’re serious, just be real with us.
Tell us your budget.
Tell us your timeline.
Tell us how close you are to moving forward.
We respect honesty way more than “just looking.”
And let’s be real… entitlement isn’t going to get you anywhere.
If you can truly do the project yourself, then why are you calling someone?
Because the truth is
Fuel isn’t getting cheaper
Materials aren’t getting cheaper
And waiting almost always costs more in the long run
We’re not here to pressure you… we’re here to help you
But help goes both ways
So either fix it now…
or pay more later and act surprised like it wasn’t coming
