The Smith Center’s Mevluda Tahirovic Memorial Garden The Smith Center's Mevluda Tahirovic Memorial Garden is located in downtown Staunton, VA. A lovely spot to visit, enjoy your lunch or to hold an event.

Mevluda Tahirovic was born in the former Yugoslavia on July 10, 1960. During that country's civil war in the early 1990's she and most of her family immigrated to the United States where Mevluda eventually became an American citizen. She passed away in Chicago on July 15, 2011.

Wendy Gray and Henri Bowman helped plant these beautiful tulips. 1000 tulips were planted...some didn’t bloom but most made it. Dwayne Pitsenbarger was our director.
