♻️ 📦 Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

We don’t like to create excess waste, whether that be shipping boxes or something else. There is enough consumer waste in the world without it being added to.

That’s why when you have seed shipped, your seed will come in a 2nd hand box.

Take a look at our post from March 4 on Rose Mallow for more photos. One of Missouri’s native hibiscus and it’s so showy! We can’t wait to see this in full bloom.

𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀 (𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘴 𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢) is a showy wildflower found throughout Missouri, especially the Ozarks, and many states to the south and east. Lanceleaf coreopsis can be found in prairies, glades, pastures, and along roadsides. It is a very adaptable plant that thrives in poor soil and dry conditions. However, it can grow equally well in rich soils as long as they are not waterlogged. Lanceleaf coreopsis provides an early splash of bright yellow in prairies and gardens alike. Blooms are up to two inches across and are held on narrow stalks above the plant. Lanceleaf coreopsis flowering occurs in late spring and early summer and is often one of the most prevalent wildflowers on roadsides. Many pollinators utilize this valuable plant, including bees, butterflies, and beetles. Seed is produced in early summer and is a favorite of many grassland birds. Consider adding this great species to pasture and pollinator plantings for early color and benefits to pollinators. In gardens, lanceleaf coreopsis is beautiful for borders and mass plantings.

☑️ Daily exercise and an important task accomplished. Undesirables woody plants were targeted today by spot spraying in wildflower plantings.

𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝑍𝑖𝑧𝑖𝑎 𝑎𝑢𝑟𝑒𝑎) is a beautiful addition to any garden or planting. It is native to most of the central and eastern United States. Golden Alexanders are found in a wide range of soil types and conditions. In lowland areas they may form colonies of plants which provide a striking sea of yellow blooms in late spring. Blooms are bright yellow flattened umbels that are attractive to many pollinators. Golden Alexanders are an important food plant for some swallowtail butterfly larvae including the Ozark swallowtail. This plant is short-lived, but readily reseeds itself. Consider adding this versatile plant to formal and informal plantings alike.
