This past Spring, I hand blended a candle scent that immediately became one of my favorites. It’s earthy, sweet, warm & floral, so deliciously feminine. As I started the naming process, I was having trouble coming up with something that felt right… “Flower Crown” “Garden Party” “Wildflowers” none fit. When my family & I moved here, one of the first things I noticed was the lighting in the evening. The endless golden tones. How it bathed everything in the most magical way. It was surreal. I took so many pictures. I wrote poems about it. I QUICKLY understood why they called this place “God’s Country.” It was so heavenly, especially within the hour before sunset, that when we had visitors, I took them for a ride just to show them. During one of our visits, a friend said, “oh, it’s golden hour.” I’m embarrassed to admit, I never knew it had a name until right then, & that was only about 8 years ago.
