Do trees explode in cold weather?
Nope. Not happening.
But in extreme cold, the moisture and sap inside a tree can freeze and expand. That pressure may cause the bark to crack or split-sometimes with a loud POP that can definitely grab your attention.
Think of it like your house creaking during a deep freeze. Scary sound? Yes. Actual explosion? Absolutely not.
