Yesterday’s garden check! 🥰🌿 Some things are growing, some are just getting started, and some are still figuring out what they want to do! 🤣

Every day in this garden is a learning experience, and I’m enjoying every bit of it!

🐔🥚 SOMETHING NEW IS COMING TO MASON’S MARKET! 😂🌱

Y’all… I think this backyard grocery store is getting a little out of hand! 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣🤣
What started as me wanting to grow a few vegetables has turned into fruit trees, an herb garden, a composting adventure, and now we’re preparing for our NEXT big project!

BACKYARD CHICKENS! 🐥🐔🥚

That’s right! We’re planning to welcome 6–8 baby chicks in January, and I am BEYOND excited! 🥰

I’ve already started preparing the garage for their arrival, and we’re working on getting their chicken coop and run ready.

And here’s the funny part…

I haven’t even brought these babies home, and I’ve already named all eight of them! 😭🤣🤣
We’re going to learn how to raise chickens, care for them, and hopefully enjoy some beautiful fresh eggs right from our own backyard!
I’m excited, a little nervous, and already imagining myself outside having full conversations with these chickens! 😂🐔
But y’all know the motto around here…

We’re documenting the WINS AND THE FAILS! 🌱💚

🌱♻️ FRIDAY GARDEN DIARIES: FROM KITCHEN SCRAPS TO GARDEN GOLD! 😂💚
Y’all, I think I have officially entered another level of gardening! 🤣
First, I started growing my own groceries. Then I started collecting seeds, adding fruit trees, and expanding my little backyard grocery store.
And NOW?! I’m saving eggshells, vegetable scraps, used coffee grounds, cardboard, and dried leaves to make my own COMPOST! 😭🤣♻️
Listen… when I tell you gardening will have you looking at things you used to throw away COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY! 😂
I’m learning that growing food isn’t just about planting seeds. It’s about learning how to use what you already have, waste less, and become a little more self-sufficient.
Do I know everything about composting? Absolutely NOT! 🤣 But that’s why this page is called Garden Diaries: Wins & Fails!

We’re learning together, one experiment at a time. 🌱💚

And yes, I’ve already been checking on my compost bin like it’s another one of my children! 😭🤣

♻️🌱 MASON’S MARKET IS GOING GREEN! 😂💚

Another garden project is officially underway, and this time we’re getting into COMPOSTING! 🍂📦🌱

I finally have a compost bin, and I’m excited to start turning our kitchen scraps, fallen leaves, and garden waste into something useful for the backyard grocery store!

Because one thing I’ve learned about gardening… SOIL IS REASONABLY PRICED BUT IT’S NOT REASONABLY PRICED! 😭🤣
I’m still learning, experimenting, and figuring things out as I go. But if I can turn things we’d normally throw away into compost for next season’s garden, that’s a WIN in my book! 🙌🏾 and yall know COMPOST IS GOLD FOR THE GARDEN! 🪴
And y’all already know, around here we document the wins AND the fails! 😂🌿

FREE garden finds?! Yes, please! 😂🌱♻️

One thing about me… I’m learning that building a beautiful backyard garden does NOT mean I have to buy everything brand new! 🙌🏾
I got ALL of these goodies for FREE — the flower pots, the adorable garden bunnies 🐇, AND that cute little table! 😍
A little cleaning, some fresh herbs and a little creativity, and these are getting a whole new life in my backyard.
I’m slowly creating the cozy little garden space I’ve been picturing, one free/thrifted find at a time. 🌿💕 And honestly, finding ways to reuse things might be becoming just as fun as growing the food. 😂

Now I need to decide which herbs are getting the fancy pots! 🌱

We’re growing groceries from groceries over here! 😂🌱🍠🥑
This week in the Garden Diaries, I’m trying something new! I’ve got sweet potatoes sitting in water hoping to grow some beautiful slips that I can eventually plant… AND my best friend gave me an avocado seed, so of course I said, “Let me see if I can grow this too!” 😂
Will I end up with sweet potatoes?
Will this avocado seed actually turn into a tree?
Will something go completely wrong along the way? 🤣
We’re about to find out together because around here I show the wins AND the fails. 🌱
One thing gardening has taught me is that sometimes the most exciting part is watching something that would’ve gone in the kitchen scraps turn into a whole new plant.

The herb garden is officially getting its own little home! 😍🌱

Found this stand and immediately knew what I wanted to do with it. Instead of having my herb pots scattered everywhere, I’m turning this into my little Herb Garden Station. 🌿

So far we’re growing:

🌿 Oregano
🌱 Basil
🌿 Thyme
💜 Lavender
🌿 Rosemary
🌱 Mint

I can already picture this stand filled with pots and overflowing with fresh herbs. 😍 And y’all already know… we’re going to document the wins AND the fails because something around here is bound to act up. 😂😂

My goal is to keep growing more of what we actually use at home—and being able to walk outside and cut fresh herbs for dinner just makes me happy. 🥰

Mason’s Market has officially added a tropical produce department! 😂🥭🌳
I went to Home Depot and came home with a MANGO TREE! For $49.98, I just had to bring her home. 😂 Now, do I know exactly what I’m doing growing a mango tree in a container? Absolutely not. 🤣 But that’s what Garden Diaries: Wins & Fails is all about—learning as I grow!

She’s going into her permanent container, and apparently my Patio Plus soil already had the perlite and goodies I was looking for. 🙌🏾 So no extra trip to the store—Miss Mango is moving in TODAY! 🥭🌱

Now the real question is… how long before Mason’s Market has homegrown mangoes?! 👀😂

I said I was starting a little backyard garden. Why did I just buy 36 more grow bags?! 😭🌱 At this point Mason’s Market needs business hours. 😆😆😆🤷🏾‍♀️ we’re not recalling nothing in this backyard 🤣😘😘😘 what fall vegetables are you planting or planted?
