Great article in Native American marker trees!
If you didn’t know already, early natives would bend trees and burn it partially in specific directions to point toward water, holy places, burial grounds, meeting places, etc. Lots of trees have similar formations but to see an actual marker tree, it would be approximately 400+ years old.
