Well, it has been quite a while since our last post. We have had a few small projects we have completed, and we had some work done my Aquaguard on the pool deck and carport.
To say we had a poor experience with Aquaguard would be a vast understatement. I wanted to let everyone know how it was, just in case others are considering getting the same thing done.
You might have seen some videos. They drill a series of holes thru the concrete and inject a very dense foam that expands, lifts, and stabilizes the concrete. The adverts, of course, show very good results.
The guy giving the quote was positive they could lift and level all of the deck, even the far side that had settled a lot. Same for the carport, where the addition that we tore off had caused the carport to crack and settle. Took over 6 weeks to get a date.
He was wrong. I hate to say that he purposely deceived us, but it appears so. They were able to lift some areas and not lift others, so that the far deck is high, then low, then high. Just a wavy mess. They had plenty of excuses, but in the end that matters not. $6000 and 6 hours later it looks worse than when they started. I posted a less-than-flattering review and someone, an supervisor contacted me and wanted to send someone out for a look. The supervisor was pleasant enough, had a look, took photos and admitted it was not right. Said they would get us on the schedule ASAP to fix it. Couple weeks later they were set to come out for an afternoon time slot, which seemed odd since it took 6 hours for them to screw it up, so a few hours in the afternoon seemed dubious at best. Anyway, that afternoon came and went, not a call, not a text, not an email- nothing. Finally, after 7 PM they rooled up to the house. By then I was pretty angry. I am not sure what they could have done at 7 on a Friday evening and sent them away.
Just use some caution if you are considering having any concrete lifting, or jacking.
