19 years!! I took a chance on my friend’s little brother. I still remember him telling me he was only planning to work for a few months before heading off to play college football in the fall. Back then, neither of us probably imagined that “temporary job” would turn into nearly two more decades of friendship, hard work, and helping build this company. Somewhere along the way, the work got in his blood — and we’re sure glad it did.

Brian has been a huge part of the northern expansion and has done just about every part of well construction over the years. He was my right-hand guy on the rig for many years & was the lead of an install crew for a stint.

For the past 4 years, he’s been the guy who gets the call when the water stops flowing, the pressure drops, or something just “doesn’t sound right.” From diagnosing pump issues and electrical problems to scheduling crews and coordinating leak repairs, he keeps the wheels turning and the water running.

Whether it’s a Sunday afternoon/late-night emergency, a burned-up control box, a bad splice, or a pump change 300 feet down, he tackles it head-on with experience, patience, and know-how that only comes from years in the field.

Thank you, Brian, for 19 years of hard work, dedication, and being the steady hand our customers and crews can count on. Way to MAY kit happen!

April showers might bring May flowers… but around here, they bring Tanner pump
Installations 💧

Tanner is one of our water well pump installers. He’s the guy who really knows how to make things flow. When it comes to new installs, he doesn’t just meet the standard—he wells above it.

From setting pumps to wiring the system clean, he keeps everything running smooth—no leaks, no shortcuts, no funny business (unless it’s April Fools, and even then… his installs are no joke)

While everything else is springing up this time of year, Tanner’s out there making sure your water system does the same—reliable, steady, and ready to go at the flip of a switch.
Let’s just say we are really PUMPED he’s on our squad.

All puns aside; Tanner-thanks for all you do. Your quiet personality is a joy to work with and your funny and witty spirit is just what we need here at Crandall’s! Also, you’ve got the best taste is music!! Here’s to another great year with you on the team.

February is over, so now we’re going to talk about a fella named Keith who likes to “March” to the beat of his own drum. He started out as part of our northern crew & would spend many nights away from home while the work was piling up at the Co/Wy border. That hard work & commitment has led to a big portion of our company expanding over the years & having opportunities we never thought possible. Keith is definitely a utility player in our staff. He’s a good mechanic, he can plumb, handle electrical hookups in the water systems & even roughneck when his shoulder is feeling up to it. He never has an ill word to say about anyone & he’s one of the most positive & encouraging guys out there. We all have many great memories & laughs with him over the years. Keith, thanks for all you do & have done.

Fun Fact - Uncle Keith used to work on windmills & water well systems for my Father years ago at Paine’s Pump & Repair in Byers.

It’s February & also Groundhog Day! Does it feel like you hear about our employees over & over again lol…. After the previous months of celebrating employees who have been with us for a significant amount of time, we’d like to bring to light a newer team member who has made an instant impact to our office crew. Our ledger accountant, Jenn!
With a very busy environment from bills, to estimates to phone calls, state reports etc. Jenn brings organization, communication, efficiency & a personality that meshes with the office as well as the field crews. She brings new ideas & is willing to do whatever is best to help keep us moving forward and our bills paid. (I wish we could stop paying them) Jenn, thanks for all you do & we are looking forward to another great year with you.

It’s a new month & a new year, so let’s talk New Years Revolutions. (Kelly & top heads of course) 2025’ left us with one of our best years yet. A big portion of that success comes from our long term, (14 years) hardworking guy, Josh Meredith! Along with drilling air wells over 700’, (not an easy task) Josh is also the lead driller in our Cathodic protection department.

Cathodic protection you ask? Yes! We don’t just drill water wells, we have a whole CP dept. Cathodic Protection is a technique that prevents metal corrosion by making the structure to be protected, the cathode of an electrochemical cell, effectively stopping it from corroding. (In other words it keeps oil and gas pipe lines from rusting out too quickly.)

We drill many CP holes for the oil and gas companies. From Beulah, ND to Milford, Iowa. Josh has drilled in more states than anyone else here at Crandall’s. He’s currently drilled in 10 states. Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Iowa, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota & New Mexico.

Josh has big plans to add international driller to his résumé at some point. Josh thank you for all you do & we’re looking forward to a great 2026’!
