There is a particular comfort to a traditional kitchen. It feels settled and lived-in, which is what you want from the room where everyone ends up all fall.

Belle Maison brings European-inspired elegance to a thoughtfully traditional design. Soft gray cabinetry and a distressed walnut island create the contrast the room is built around, anchored by polished Calacatta Gold Silestone countertops and warm gold accents.

A custom Modern-Aire hood and Bertazzoni range give the cooking area weight and presence, and the French doors pull in natural light while connecting the kitchen to the outdoor entertaining space. Our favorite detail is the one you cannot see, a hidden walk-in pantry behind a Murphy door disguised as a cookbook shelf.

Our North Haven primary bath is in the September/October kitchen & bath issue of New Hampshire Home Magazine! A full renovation of the primary suite, with a soaking tub, a steam shower, custom walnut cabinetry and a quiet blue and white palette running through the whole room.

"I contacted KRB because I was in desperate need of a functional kitchen. My home was built in 1974 and its cabinets were old and dilapidated. I couldn't entertain because the open space in the middle of my kitchen was wasted and left people standing against the very little counter space I had. And there was just not enough storage. Just not practical.

KRB addressed every issue effectively and in a cost-effective manner! They were professional, and pleasant! It was such an amazing experience getting to be a part of the entire process along the way and KNOW that I was getting a quality renovation.

Everybody involved was courteous and professional. I was expecting a time frame of 8-12 weeks, and was sure it would be 12 or more. They finished in 8 weeks and I was overjoyed that everything was exactly how I wanted and expected it to be! TOP KNOTCH professionalism and quality! HIGHLY recommend!"

If you have been wanting to try wallpaper but cannot commit to it in a room the whole house passes through, put it somewhere small.

Stripes are having a real moment, and they can do something specific in a tight space, drawing the eye up and making a ceiling feel taller than it is. That's especially useful in older New England homes, where ceilings tend to sit lower than what gets built today.

In a room this size, wallpaper changes everything, and a small space is the best place to try something a little outside your comfort zone.

Gray cabinetry has a reputation for being cold, but the color is rarely the reason.

Your eye never reads a color on its own. It reads it against everything around it. In this kitchen, warm floors run the length of the room, the island base brings that same warmth up to counter height, and the hardware is a soft metal instead of chrome. Every one of those choices is doing something for the cabinetry.

Put those exact same doors in a room with cool tile floors and polished chrome and you would swear it was a different color. If you have ever walked into a room and could not put your finger on why it felt off, this is usually what was going on.

🩶 Save this one for whenever you find yourself staring at cabinet samples on your kitchen counter.
