🌿✨ ‘California Gold’ Bougainvillea ✨🌿
Bougainvillea galbra ‘California Gold’ is a fast growing evergreen shrub or vine that blooms periodically year-round in our warm Florida climate. One of the top blooming varieties of Bougainvillea, these are stunning and excellent bulk planting specimens. If trained as a vine, these girls can achieve 30 ft. spreads so, plan accordingly.
California Gold Bougainvillea enjoy full to partial sun and slightly acidic, well-draining soil. They are drought tolerant and handle salt spray well. Hard prune the plants in winter, and fertilize in the major seasons to promote bloom production.
Come check out our Golden gals tomorrow, during our plant sale. We’ll be open from 8am-2pm. at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL 34997. We look forward to meeting you! 😁🌿✨

🌿 Common Turmeric, Curcuma longa 🌿
We’ve got turmeric on deck! (And one sneaky ginger root in there too 😉)… Curcuma longa or common turmeric is a member of the ginger family that is native to tropical South Asia. These plants are relatively easy to grow, requiring watering after the upper 1.5 inches of soil dry out. Turmeric is also considerably hardy and will grow well in a variety of soil types and sun exposures; flowering with pink, white, yellow, or purple blossoms throughout the year. We recommend dapple light and a well draining soil mix for best results. If planted in the ground, the rhizome develops over an 8-10 month period and you’ll know it’s time to harvest when the mature plant starts to fall over and brown.
Turmeric is well-known for its medicinal benefits. In India, 🇮🇳 the plants are traditionally used to treat issues of the skin, digestive system, joints, and upper respiratory tract. Turmeric produces a compound called curcumin, which is a potent anti-inflammatory. You can pick this up at the store in capsule form, or grow it at home!
We’ve got turmeric on sale today, and a few other fun things lingering around the shop. Come by from 8am-2pm to check it out! We’re here at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL 34997. We look forward to meeting you! 👋🌿

The Chinese Ground Orchid or Urn Orchid (Bletilla striata) is a hardy, perennial terrestrial orchid that is native to Eastern Asia and is easy to grow outdoors, unlike it’s more delicate exotic counterparts. The plant is named after Luis Blet, who was an 18th-century chemist and botanical garden operator. The ‘striata’ portion of the name, refers to the raised ridges on the foliage.
Urn orchids enjoy sandy, loamy soils and will grow to about 2 ft. heights. These flowers will tolerate partial to full sun, doing best in dappled light. The Chinese Ground Orchid will also do well indoors if given ample bright, indirect light. Place these girls in any shady or loamy areas of your yard for a wonderful, delicate color pop! Flowers may appear pink, white, or purple in color and are roughly 1” around. Bletilla striata enjoy watering when the upper inch of soil dries out, and they often bloom in Spring and Fall seasons. For optimal planting locations, look for shaded grassy slopes, foothills, or mature canopy edges, hammock forests, and property fringe-lines.
Some fun facts about Urn Orchids include that they have been cultivated for thousands of years in Asian cultures, for their medicinal benefits. This is because, the roots of the plant are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory in nature. These orchids have also been described as being utilized in the treatment of stomach and lung hemorrhages, even uterine and nose bleeds. Further, mucus from the bulb is used to enhance inks and treat silk strings on musical instruments. (Facts Courtesy of North Carolina Extension Gardener).
Come by this Saturday from 8am – 2pm. to check out our urn orchids and more! Located at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL 34997. We look forward to meeting you!

So, I hate to say it, but Treasure Coast Tropical Nursery will be CLOSED tomorrow for maintenance. 🛠🔧🛁
We got hooked up to city/sewer a week or two ago through the county’s Septic 2 Sewer (S2S) program… 🌊💙 and it’s great! There is one exception though, our guest bathroom was never tied into the main line. The county has been working hard to help us out and they’re continuing tomorrow. For that reason, and for safety purposes, we will be closed tomorrow.
We are going to use this time to do some re-potting (new shoes), cleaning, trimming (haircuts), and pest management. We apologize for any inconvenience! The plants will appreciate the attention, though. 🌱💚

🌿 Corfu or Sweet Plantain Lily 🌿
Hosta plantaginea or Sweet Plantain lilies are native to the tropical regions of Asia and are commonly found in humid, shady areas. Many varieties of Hosta are sought after for their oval shaped waxy-leaves, that are layered with parallel lines. These plants make an excellent ground cover option, staying low and flowering from a central stalk. The blooms are trumpet shaped and highly fragrant.
Many Hosta lilies are pest and disease resistant, and fairly easy to care for. Place Sweet Plantain lilies in full to partial shade areas and water them at least twice a week in warmer, dryer areas.
Come see our Corfu lily and more, today from 8am to 2pm at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL during our plant sale! We look forward to meeting you! 🌿✨

🌿Macho Ferns - NATIVE alert🌿
Macho ferns or Nephrolepis biserrata are gorgeous large ferns native to Florida that produce vibrant green fronds. The fronds unroll themselves into 3-4 foot branches and are lined with medium sized finger-like leaves. These ferns are big and bodacious, often dwarfing other fern varieties.
Macho ferns are typically easy to care for and grow well both indoors or outdoors. Place them in direct light with ample humidity if growing indoors, or choose partial sun to shade spots with good access to water if planting outdoors. Regardless of where you choose to grow your Macho ferns, they’re not likely to disappoint. These babes demand attention in any space! Macho ferns also provide excellent habitat for native animals such as small mammals, birds, and reptiles. These plants are an excellent addition for anyone looking to provide a little low-maintenance space for wildlife.
Our Red and Seminole pink hibiscus were showing off, and we’ve got some other fun takeaways ready for this weekend - like 1-gallon Cuban oregano plants and a couple of confederate jasmine ready to go to a good home. Come check us out this Saturday from 8am-2pm, weather permitting, at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL 34997. We look forward to meeting you!

🌿🌸The Krimson Queen🌸🌿
Hoya carnosa ‘variegata’ or Hoya Krimson Queen is a hybrid plant typically native to Asia and Australia, cultivated some 200+ years ago. The plant is eye-catching, with waxy leaves that progress from shades of pink and white to deep green.
Hoya are very popular houseplants that are typically grown indoors with southern facing exposure, to maximize photosynthesis without forcing the plant to revert (where it loses the pink or white variegation). If grown outdoors, Hoya enjoy semi-humid, warm, and shady spaces with a maximum sun exposure of about 3-5 hours of dappled light per day. Hoya are succulent-like and susceptible to root rot, so you do not want to water these too often – they are much more drought tolerant than some other house plant varieties. We recommend planting hoyas in a well-draining potting mix that has been thinned with perlite and orchid mix to help with aeration. These plants are also draping or climbing varieties and do best in baskets or fixed to trellises. Mature plants produce vining branches that are roughly 2 feet in length and peppered with leaf clusters. When conditions are just right, the Krimson Queen produces a bundled bloom of waxy, petite flowers that have pink radial petals and a red central eye – quite a spectacle to see! (Bloom image provided by the National Gardening Association: https://garden.org/plants/photo/55372/)
Come check out our Hoya Krimson Queen this Saturday, June 25th from 8am to 2pm located at 1700 SE Salerno Rd. Stuart, FL 34997. For questions or to place orders please, call (772)708-9839 or email [email protected]. We look forward to meeting you!
P.S. We’ve also got 7-gallon dwarf Cavendish bananas on sale for $15, 3-gallon Butterfly w**d for $8, and 3-gallon Clusia available for $12 - come scoop these babies up while they last!!
