The Fire Cider I started September 3rd is ready! Here's what you need to do when time is up.
1. Check for any "bubbles". This is a sign that fermentation is happening and the FC should not be consumed.
2. Check the inside of your lid. Make sure there's no sign of bacteria or mold growth and that the metal or plastic isn't degraded.
3. Check the top sticking out of the Fire Cider for bacteria and mold.
4. Check the inside mouth of the jar for bacteria and mold.
5. Look at the sediment at the bottom of the jar and check for any slimy, sluggish masses or anything that looks "off". You can always shoot me a pic if you are concerned!
6. Smell the Fire Cider. Does it have any weird musty or "sick" smell to it?
7. IF everything looks and smells perfect, go ahead and strain the vinegar out of the vegetation. I start with a metal strainer and then switch to an ultra fine mesh strainer. You want to make sure all plant material is removed.
8. Bottle it up and label it! You could also add honey to it at this point. Store tightly in the fridge and use any time you've been out in large groups or when you start to feel damp and stagnant.
Let me know if you have any questions!

**** LIST OF HERBS FOR SALE ****

Here is what I have on hand in a substantial quantity that you can order a $5 bag of from me. Portions will be generous for most herbs. All herbs are in a dried form, and can be used in tea, simmer pots, cooking, tinctures, homemade beauty products or rituals.

Eventually I will be doing posts and videos about all the herbs as well as offering in person classes, but for now I'm sharing what I have in case there are people who want to try an herb without committing to a large bag. I can also do a blend for you in a $5 bag - just let me know which herbs you'd like included.

You can arrange porch pick-up at my house or pick up at Craftsman's Daughter. Orders of $30 or more I will do local porch drop-off. Payment via Venmo or cash. Orders will be ready on Friday.

I'm going to be using the common names of the herbs for this list but your bag will have the official name on it. NOTE: while most herbs are gentle and benign in the body, you may unknowingly have allergies or reactions to certain families like the Asteraceae family. Always use herbs with caution and educate yourself on possible reactions. If you are pregnant: many herbs have emmenagogic properties and should not be taken while pregnant. None of this is medical advice - use at your own risk.

So at this point I have over 50 medicinal herbs on hand. Thinking about selling small bags of straight herbs to people who want to try them out (like this Mugwort, known for giving you really great lucid dreams).
Let me know, should I post my full list of the herbs I have for people to choose from? Nobody has been very interested in the tea blends so maybe straight herbs for people to blend their own?? Thinking around $5 bags (amount you'd get in each herb would vary but would be enough for multiple servings).
Feedback is welcomed!!

I'm pretty obsessed with my new Fragrance Elixer. Inspired by Farrand Hall, it has some mellow feminine citrus and floral top notes popping through some wonderfully warm masculine base notes. I am ordering labels later this week so I can start selling it for the holidays.
Speaking of the holidays ... I'm going to be offering gift bags for pre-order! They'll contain a handcrafted votive candle, a pocket lip salve, 2 tea blends and a Fragrance Oil. So stay tuned to order yours!

An enormous THANK YOU to all the beautiful souls who came to the Fire Cider Workshop last night (not pictured is my amazing SIL Theresa who was behind the camera - thank you for sharing your space with us!!)
Participants will have first dibs on the next workshop in Novemeber which will be Laundry & Dishwasher Detergent.
I'm so grateful to this community - not only the people who come to events but also those who share my posts, buy my products, have Reiki sessions with me or just generally support me through optimism and patience.
I truly love this stage of my life, even with all the wild rollercoaster ups and downs over the last year. You all make it an absolute pleasure to follow my crazy dreams and I can't thank you enough for that 💖

I've been using this homemade dishwasher detergent for the last 2 months and have been really impressed - it will definitely be on the workshops list! No more single use plastic containers!!
And did you know that instead of JetDry you can just put distilled white vinegar in that little compartment?

Trapped inside by allergies... still get to play with plants though.
