Bill here. Just to offer thanks to all for the many Birthday greetings received over the last couple of days. All much appreciated. Birthday evening spent in the company of excellent music and old friends. Image below: L-R Malcolm Creese (bass), Tim Garland (saxophones, bass clarinet), an intruder called Bill, and Gwilym Simcock (piano). Tim and Gwil were of course A-Team Earthworkers, but this occasion featured their trio with Malcolm – Acoustic Triangle – plus the Royal Holloway Choir, conducted by Rupert Gough. The highlight of the evening was the world premiere of a piece especially written by Tim Garland entitled Bird Songs. I never use this word, but on this occasion I must: stunning.
