How to Choose the Right Size Portable Building 🏠
One of the most common questions we get at Lowcountry Buildings is: “What size building do I need?” The right size really depends on how you plan to use it. Here are a few simple guidelines to help you decide:
📦 If you just need extra storage:
Consider a 8x10, 8x12, or 10x12. These are great for lawn equipment, seasonal items, tools, and household overflow. They fit nicely in most yards while still giving you plenty of space to organize.
🛠 If you want a workshop or hobby space:
Look at something like a 10x16, 12x20, or 12x24. These sizes give you room for workbenches, tools, and still enough space to move around comfortably.
🌸 If you’re dreaming of a she-shed, home office, or pool house:
A 12x24 or 12x28 works well because it feels more like a small room. You’ll have space for furniture, décor, and even a small porch or loft.
🏕 If you’re planning a hunting cabin, fishing cabin, or lake getaway:
Many customers choose 14x32 up to 16x60. These larger buildings give you space for beds, a kitchenette, or a comfortable weekend retreat.
At Lowcountry Buildings, we carry sizes from 6x10 all the way up to 16x60, so there’s something for almost every need.
