For those that think we only do chalk painted and distressed furniture, here’s your sign otherwise! We also carry various finishes and pieces that are not distressed. And of course you have the option of customizing any piece in the shop from the color to the finish to the fabric truly making it your own custom painted piece of furniture at a fraction of custom prices. So if you see a piece in the shop but you don’t want a flat chalk paint finish, we can definitely paint it in a satin finish with no distressing in any color of your choice. But of course we can always do the chalk paint finish! 😊

This week's newest arrivals at Weasel & Rooster showcase my recent painting endeavors. After a busy week, I'm thrilled to reveal a selection of hand-painted pieces designed to infuse any room with character and warmth. These include a striking wardrobe/amoire with shell motif carvings, a large nine-drawer dresser with soft-close drawers, a pair of matching coastal nightstands featuring fabric-covered drawers, a vibrant teal vintage chest with three drawers and original hardware, a console/TV stand with a custom Driftwood finish, a substantial shell lamp with a wicker shade, nautical-themed ceramic lamps, and a beautiful vintage mirror boasting an ornate carved center design. It is with a very heavy heart that I am making this post….Bob Cocker, our beloved “picker” and friend passed away unexpectedly several weeks ago. He passed as a result of a fire that started in his home during one of the recent cold snaps we had. The fire is currently under investigation but initial causes seem to point to the kerosene heater Bob was using to heat his home. A tragic end to one of the kindest, caring and helpful people I have ever met. Bob was the epitome of someone who would give you “the shirt off of his back”. He helped others even at his own expense. It brought him great joy to help others and our unlikely friendship grew as the years passed. I first met Bob when we were in our first location in Murrells Inlet and continued to buy pieces from him over the years through several shop moves and lots of personal ups & downs. I think he enjoyed “visiting” and the lively conversations we had…selling me furniture/inventory for the shop was just a secondary perk. Bob loved people in general and had a passion for karaoke. He could be found in many of the bars & restaurants singing karaoke from Surfside on up to No. Myrtle Beach. He became a dear friend over the years and was the one who affectionately nicknamed me “Ellie May” for my love of animals. I will forever miss him backing his truck up to the front doors of the shop, hopping out and excitedly saying
“Got something for you to look at” 💔
Rest in peace Bob, you will be sorely missed!
