Woodpeckers can’t tell the difference between your beautiful log home and a dead tree in the forest, and unfortunately, that can mean damage to your logs, siding, or fascia boards.

Many people assume they’re always pecking for grubs but that’s not the full story.

There are three main reasons woodpeckers peck on wood:

3️⃣ Making a nest

Not to be dramatic, but calling it “painting the logs” hurts our soul a little bit. 😏 PSA: It’s a lot of things. Painting the logs is not one of them. Ok. Carry on. 👊🏻
