🪵🐦 : Woodpeckers & Your Log Home
Woodpeckers can’t tell the difference between your beautiful log home and a dead tree in the forest, and unfortunately, that can mean damage to your logs, siding, or fascia boards.
Many people assume they’re always pecking for grubs but that’s not the full story.
There are three main reasons woodpeckers peck on wood:
1️⃣ Looking for food
2️⃣ Defining their territory
3️⃣ Making a nest
Surprisingly, territorial drumming (not feeding) is often what causes the most noticeable damage.
Protecting your log home starts with understanding what you’re up against.
