Why would anyone willingly make their bedroom look red? 😂

We recently swapped the bulbs in our bedroom and toddler’s room for blue-light-blocking bulbs as part of creating a calmer nighttime routine.

Here are a few reasons we wanted to try them:

✨ May help support your body’s natural circadian rhythm

✨ Reduces exposure to blue light in the evening, which can interfere with melatonin production

✨ Helps signal to your brain that it’s time to wind down for sleep

✨ Creates a softer, less stimulating environment before bed

✨ Can be a helpful addition to a bedtime routine for both adults and kids

✨ Encourages a cozy, relaxing atmosphere at the end of the day

We’re still early in our experiment and definitely don’t have it all figured out (yes, we’re still watching TV at night 😅), but I have noticed fewer headaches lately and our bedrooms feel noticeably calmer.

Have you ever tried reducing blue light at night?

Toolbox Tuesday 🔨

We originally planned to inside mount this motorized Roman shade, but quickly realized our trim depth wasn’t deep enough.

After switching to an outside mount, we ended up with a solution we liked even better—it allows more light into the room when the shade is fully raised and still gives us the cordless functionality we wanted with a toddler in the house.

A few tools that made installation easier:
• Stud finder
• Laser level
• Wall anchors
• Drill

Have you ever started a project and ended up with a completely different plan than expected?

One year ago we toured this house for the very first time.

We walked through each room imagining what it could become, knowing there was a lot we’d want to change but having no idea where to start.

A year later, we’ve painted walls, moved furniture more times than we’d like to admit, tackled projects that took way longer than expected, and learned a lot along the way.

Some spaces are nearly finished. Others are still waiting their turn.

It’s easy to focus on everything left on the to-do list, but looking back at these photos reminds us just how much can change one project at a time.

And we’re just getting started. 🤍

Which transformation is your favorite?

P.S. The bathroom reveal is coming Friday 👀

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest impact.

One tap later and our dining room feels like a completely different space. 🤎

Team before or after?

Not every DIY project starts with a drill. Sometimes it starts with finding what’s hiding behind the wall.

A stud finder helps you locate the framing behind your drywall so you can securely hang heavier items where they’ll have the support they need. And since curtains are up next, this was our first step before installing the new rods.

What’s a tool you own but aren’t totally sure how to use? 👇

We finally upgraded our bathroom light/fan and I didn’t realize one fixture could do this much.

✨ 4 light temperature settings
✨ Built-in night light
✨ Bluetooth speaker
✨ Humidity sensor that automatically turns the fan on and off

The humidity sensor might be my favorite feature so far.

Which feature would you use the most? 👇
