Lots of matters and peppers started today! I have about of 12 each variety. All the tomatoes will be in 4” pots at the time of sale and will be $5 per pot. I saw a post on a gardening page where someone went to Home Depot and bought plants this year and they paid a small fortune for them there…seems like it was around $8 per 4” pot and who knows what kind of pesticides they use on them.

I have genovese basil, sweet Thai basil, red Freddie basil…

Amish paste
Jersey devil
Red Russo Sicilian
Classic red beefsteak
Cherokee purple
Black Krim
Purple bumblebee cherry
Pink bumblebee cherry
Chadwick cherry
Sun gold cherry

And PEPPERS!!! I will be back to update this part in a bit 🙂

Getting ready to get some tomatoes and peppers going along with some other herbs today! I think I’m going to do things differently than I did last year. I had sooo many left over plants it was crazy. So this year I will post what I’ll be planting, how much they will be and people can let me know what they want.

All plants will be ready the week before Memorial Day weekend and will have to be picked up by the weekend following Memorial Day.

Most of the plants are heirloom varieties from Baker Creek and some are from a Maine company called Pine Tree as well as a few from Jonny’s Seed. NO GMO and I don’t use pesticides either 🙂

Be on the lookout today for tomatoes, peppers and basil varieties!

Spring is just around the corner and I’m thinking of this years gardens.

While looking at the catalog last fall I saw okra and it occurred to me that I’ve NEVER tried okra! Lots of people were also talking about their okra plants on gardening pages and I thought…hmmm…maybe these would be fun to try! The plants are gorgeous with beautiful green leaves and deep red veins and stems. The particular variety I chose has yellow flowers and orangish pods that get to be between 5-6’ tall. Jing Orange is the variety which came from Baker Creek and is reported to have soft hairs and is less slimy than other varieties. It had rave reviews so I had to order a packet. I think they will be stunning in both a veggie garden or in a bed among other flowers. Do you like okra??

Here’s a link to how to grow them…seems they like warm weather so planting out perhaps after tomatoes are planted is best.

Lots of beautiful plants getting ready to bloom 🙂 Larkspur, verbascum (my favorite!!), perennial pink sage, nicotiana, orchid frost verbena, vinca tattoo papaya and black cherry. Plus I have lots of peppers setting blossoms and tomato plants setting cherries tomatoes and the larger tomato varieties are setting their flowers. All heirloom tomatoes and peppers! Check out that pink celery and lovage!! I still have three big pots of lovage and a few smaller pots...it’s a perennial so you’ll have it for years to come.

I also have some medicinal plants like holy basil, clary sage, blue hyssop, arnica (not pictured), white horehound, nepita...seems like I’m forgetting something, lol.

Hopefully I will be open this weekend. If you see my truck here stop by!!

Tomatoes are getting blossoms...this sun gold even has cherries forming 🙂 lots of pepper plants have blossoms forming too. Some of the morning glories I collected seeds from are beginning bud and this one pictured below sorta looks like it’ll be pink! Maybe it’ll be open today and I will know for sure! They came from a pink vine so fingers crossed!

You will find in a previous post a list of all my plants. Since my hours are limited (can’t quit my day job yet, lol) you can reserve what you want by messaging me. I can leave your plants out and set aside so you can pick them up at your convenience and I’ll trust you’ll leave some cash or a check for me. Or you can make an appointment to stop by.

I will be home this tonight from 5-6:30. Then tomorrow evening I will be open from 4:30-6:30.

Who still needs tomato plants??? I will be open tomorrow and Thursday evening from 5-6:30 for local folks. If anyone wants “order” plants I can set them aside for you to pick up at a designated time. I have a list of plants in another post so you can see what they are and look them up to learn more about them.
