Jim Morris did a great job organizing our work crew to repair the skid on the bottom of our stocking tank. Paul Wenham donated the wood. Jim procured all of the fiberglass material and showed us what to do. Small group completed the task in two relatively short work sessions. Ready to go next year. Now as the war cooler weather approaches let’s go fishing.

Salmon release date has been set! On Saturday, April 23rd, Jim Lawler and Jason will drive the Salmon fry from Vermont to Taberg. The ETA is Noon to 1pm for Jim, Jason and the Salmon to arrive at the Annsville Town Hall in Taberg (9196 Main St, Taberg, NY). We will meet as a group and caravan to the various release points that have been arranged.

Participants are requested to bring clean 5 gallon buckets for the Salmon distribution. Volunteers are welcome to assist the club.

Fish Creek Atlantic Salmon Club will be conducting its annual fry stocking on Saturday, April 24th starting at around 12:45 PM. Volunteers needed and welcome. Meet at the Annsville Town Hall on Main Street in Taberg. We will do this socially distanced and wear masks when close to others. Bring a clean plastic bucket and dress appropriately. Wear rubber boots and dress for the weather. Right now the weather looks clear and cool about 60 degrees.

For just the third time in 150 years naturally reproducing salmon have returned to Boquet River. Scientists made the discovery this summer while doing survey work in Essex County.

Altmar Parish Williamstown Biology students, lead by Ms Janet Campbell released their Atlantic salmon in the Little Salmon River this morning in Mexico. Great volunteers from the Syra Canadian Club, the Tug Hill Black River Chapter of Trout Unlimited and the Fish Creek Atlantic Salmon Club made it happen. All the fish swam away. All the students made it home without joining the fish. Another very successful project. The fish were bigger than usual thanks to the excellent care given by the school.
