Before and after.

It’s amazing what a new floor can do for a home. Most people see the finished product, but every beautiful result starts with the work no one notices.

Before the first plank was ever laid, the basement floor was carefully patched to encapsulate the existing asbestos tile and create a solid foundation. From there, new luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout the entire home, the kitchen received new base molding, and every room was finished with quarter round to give it that clean, polished look.

To me, remodeling has never been about covering things up—it’s about building on a solid foundation and paying attention to the details that most people will never think about… but they’ll definitely feel.

That’s what I love about this work. Every project is another opportunity to leave something better than I found it.

Every member of the family matters.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that when someone invites you into their home, they’re placing a tremendous amount of trust in you. I don’t take that lightly.

That trust extends beyond the walls I’m working on. It includes every member of the family—especially the four-legged ones.

Whether it’s letting the dogs out, making sure their water bowl is full, throwing a ball around the yard for a few minutes, or just giving them a little extra attention while their humans are busy, I’m happy to do it. (Even if they decide my pencil looks like a snack. 😂)

At Tice Remodeling, I’m not just there to remodel a home. I’m there to care for the home and everything that’s precious to the people who live there.

Freedom

Happy Fourth of July from all of us at Tice Remodeling LLC! 🇺🇸

As I enjoy the countless blessings that come with being an American, I can’t help but think back to a time when a small group of incredibly brave men and women looked at everything they had built, everything they loved, and said, “Enough.”

They risked their homes, their livelihoods, and their very lives for an idea—a vision that every person is born with the right to live free. They stood against tyranny knowing it could very well be the last thing they ever did.

Because of their courage, we inherited something priceless.

Today we have the freedom to speak our minds, worship according to our own beliefs, travel where we choose, pursue our dreams, build businesses, raise our families, and shape our own futures. These freedoms can be easy to take for granted, but they were purchased at an extraordinary cost.

So today, if only for a moment, raise a glass. Offer a quiet prayer. Remember the brave, hardworking, and selfless men and women throughout our nation’s history who sacrificed so that future generations could live free.

Whether you say, “God bless,” “Allah keep you in His grace,” “May Buddha guide your path,” “May Shiva watch over you,” or you simply send love and kindness into the world, I hope today brings peace, gratitude, and joy to you and those you love.

Another exterior rebuild in the books.

What started as a simple repair quickly revealed years of hidden problems—extensive rot, mold-infested blown-in insulation, failing concrete block, and plenty of old-school “it’ll hold” framing that had long since reached the end of its life.

In the end, everything came out.

A new solid foundation was poured, the walls were rebuilt using S-Type mortar with poured reinforcement for exceptional strength, and the entire exterior was reframed from the ground up. New energy-efficient windows were installed with proper flashing to help ensure they’ll never leak. We also relocated the entry door to create a more functional interior layout, then finished it off with a small deck and a northern-style portico that gives the home both character and curb appeal.

Every bit of this project was completed by one man—yours truly.

As strange as it sounds, I’m a little sad to see this one finished. Even under the blazing summer sun, it never really felt like work. I genuinely enjoy taking something that seems beyond saving and giving it a second life. Seeing the smile on a homeowner’s face at the end makes every sore muscle worth it.
