Bethlehem SteelStacks

Jennifer just visited her old stomping grounds and stopped by Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, home of the steel I-beam. These wide fl**ge beams were first produced in 1907 and make up much of modern day structures.

The steel I-beam is known for its strength while being relatively lightweight. Jennifer was able to capture beautiful shots of Bethlehem’s SteelStacks, a 10-acre campus dedicated to music, art and community gatherings on the former site of Bethlehem Steel.

Fun fact: Bethlehem steel workers actually became the first soccer team in our country. Jennifer has been working with The Puyallup Tribe to design containers for this year’s World Cup to be temporary structures for the parking lots which will serve as information and safety booths.

Bethlehem SteelStacks

Jennifer just visited her old stomping grounds and visited Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, home of the steel I-beam. These wide fl**ge beams were first produced in 1907 and make up much of modern day structures.

New Consejo Counseling Center Grand Opening

Consejo is a licensed, award-winning treatment center offering outpatient behavioral health care, trauma-informed care, and supportive transitional housing.

Since 1978, Consejo has served children, youth, adults, and elders in King, Pierce, and Thurston-Mason County.

We were able to attend Consejo’s grand opening on May 20th and it was such a joyful event! We are so happy to have been apart of this amazing project.

Bike to Work Day

On May 15th, Marlene and Nora Jane participated in . Nora Jane’s mother lent her bike for the cause and sent a cookie for Marlene along with it!

While Marlene bikes to work most days, May is the official . As an avid biker Marlene has received Bike Month Proclamations from City of Tacoma and City of Gig Harbor (where she starts and ends her commute!)

Bike Month was started by the League of American Bicyclists. More information about Bike Month can be found on their website here: https://bikeleague.org/events/bike-month/

Cascade Bicycle Club, on whose board Marlene serves as a volunteer, holds its Bike Everywhere Luncheon and Fundraiser during Bike Month.

Biking supports our commitment to community, the environment, and of course, health. There’s only a few days left, but will you bike to work before the month ends?

Happy !

We would like to take a moment to honor and acknowledge the military personnel who gave their lives for this country.

We hope everyone is able to enjoy time with friends and family while also taking a minute to remember the fallen heroes.

Red poppies are a symbol for Memorial Day — and other days of remembrance — to honor those who have served in the armed forces, dating back to World War I.

Our beautiful poppy mural on the back of our building seems especially fitting today.
