I’ve been working on something that means a lot to me, and I’m excited to finally share the newly redesigned and recoded Services Billboard web App.

Services Billboard is a local services marketplace built to help people find local businesses, compare providers, post projects, and connect with the businesses they actually choose. For service providers, it gives contractors and local businesses a place to create a public listing, get discovered, and find local project opportunities.

The idea behind it comes from my own experience.

Years ago, when I was running a home-improvement and restoration business, finding reliable leads was always a challenge. Like many contractors, I paid the big lead-generation companies because it felt like there wasn’t much of an alternative.

The problem was the same over and over again: shared leads, several contractors chasing the same customer, dead phone numbers, tire-kickers, high costs, and a race to be the first person to answer the phone.

I started researching how these lead generation websites worked and started to teach myself web development and internet marketing and eventually moving full-time into helping other local businesses grow online, I kept seeing the same problem from both sides.

Contractors were spending hard-earned money on leads that often went nowhere.

Homeowners would fill out one simple form and suddenly get flooded with calls from multiple companies they never chose to hear from.

That never felt like a good system for either side.

Services Billboard came from the idea that there should be a better way.

A place where consumers can search local businesses, post a project, compare providers, and decide who they want to connect with — while keeping their contact information private until they’re ready.

And a place where contractors and local businesses can build their presence, get discovered, and choose which opportunities they want to pursue.

The platform has now been redesigned and recoded, and I’d really appreciate you taking a look.
