After a few years off social media… we’re back — and we’re building something big.

My son and I just launched the first episode of a new YouTube series where we’re clearing our land to build a home, a workshop, and a legacy.

5 acres of untouched woods. Century-old oaks. A dream in the making.

This project is about more than just sawdust and sweat — it’s about doing something that lasts.

🎥 Search “Workshop Hustle” on YouTube to find our first episode.

We’d love for you to be part of this from the beginning. Let’s build something that matters.

Last week I had the blessing to deliver this table to north Mississippi and have some awesome road trip time with my wife. We are truly thankful for the clients willing to wait patiently for something handcrafted to their desires. Ironically, I delivered this black walnut table to clients who have 8 acres of black walnut trees planted, first for the nuts and then veneer when they are ready. As a thank you and continued connection, they gave me a 2 year old black walnut sapling. I look forward to planting this on our property in FL and watching it grow.

Here is the Odie’s Oil plus Espresso pigment for the top of the walnut table. This was sanded from 80 to 400 many times with each grit in-between and water popped. It received two coats of Odie’s afterward waiting about 36 hrs between coats. Odie’s definitely is not the fastest way to finish, but the results (and long term life) speak for itself.

My goal with each piece is to make it special for the client. Sometimes those ideas are mine and sometimes the client has a request. This subtle touch of a hand carved S for the client’s last name forever shows that not only was this table custom made but solely created for them.

For this heirloom table we needed a finish that would get better with age and from the start I knew Odie’s Oil would do the job. However, when I started planing and cutting boards in the batch of black walnut I received, some of it had a bit more lighter sapwood than originally wanted. So I reached out to my local Odie’s expert for an in person tutorial on using Odie’s Solvent and their color pigments. This worked out perfect to blend the darks and lights of the wood and still be able to topcoat with regular Odie’s hard wax oil.

I don’t always stop and put on a dado stack, pay attention to your lines and measurements and still get beautiful results. This table is almost a wrap and I’ve got some content to catch up on.
