IT'S A GIRL!!! This little one was born on Labor Day - how fitting. 😊 Momma showed signs of labor in the evening and we all came out to watch the events unfold. Within 30 mins, she made her appearance.

The kids were fascinated and grossed out at the same time.

Her official name is still to be determined, but leaning towards Dolly P.

This moment made all the hard work over the years worth it. We are excited to watch her grow up on the farm.

The internal fencing under the pole barn is complete. This will help in managing the cows. This space will also be used for storing hay and a space to hold a cow in a separate area should the need arise.

And if you ever need cow therapy, just walk out there. They will find you seeing how they are very curious large dogs.

Big things happening at the farm! A pole barn was installed recently down the hill where a few trees decided to die and opened up the property. The pole barn will have a pen if a cow needs to be separated, an alleyway and squeeze shoot to make for safe cow handling, and an area for hay storage.

We will reroute the pasture fence, install the gates, and build the internal fencing and pens ourselves. Safe to say, we have our work cut out for us! Probably shouldn't have started this when it was 100°.

The corn harvest this year wasn't our best. A few large ears, but several medium or small.

I used a bowl within a bowl method to cut off the kernels and froze our harvest. The best part about this is that the large bowl keeps everything neat and tidy requiring minimal cleanup!

The tomatoes are growing like crazy! Look at this huge one - just over 1 lb! 😳 All the tomatoes are going into the freezer so we can make a large batch of tomato sauce. This might be happening sooner rather than later as we are running out of freezer space!

Introducing the new kid on the block. Our new rooster, Henry. This young man has big shoes to fill, as our sweet Teddy was an amazing rooster. Sadly, a foot infection took him from us too soon.

So far, Henry has been a gentleman to the ladies and sweet to us. Let's hope it remains that way!
