We are entering one of the best times to plant fruit trees. Living in Tampa area, we are spoiled by being able to plant nearly year round.

Why is fall such a great time? We still get rain showers early in the fall and can easily supplement with hand watering as needed. Fall is also a great time to plant mango trees because we can get trees planted and still allow them to flower and fruit. Fall is the start of the cooler weather. With the cooler weather, newly planted mango trees don't need to release so much moisture to allow for photosynthesis. Fall and winter, it is important to not over water your trees. As your fruit trees are not using as much moisture from the soil to fruit and evaporative cooling for photosynthesis.
