✨ Project Spotlight: Three-Story Custom Home — Second-Floor Framing & Structural Decking | Phase 3✨

This three-story custom home continues moving vertically as the project transitions from masonry construction into structural wood framing. With the first-floor CMU support system complete, the framing package is now creating the elevated living space above the open garage.

The design calls for an open garage at ground level with the second and third floors dedicated to living space, making proper structural sequencing especially important as loads transfer through the elevated floor system to the masonry columns below.

Progress Highlights

✅ Engineered wood floor framing installed over the open first-floor garage
✅ Structural beams and floor trusses set across the completed CMU support columns
✅ Second-floor structural subfloor decking installed, establishing the next level of the home
✅ Second-floor exterior wall framing underway with window and door openings incorporated into the layout
✅ Framing continues to define the elevated residential floor plan while maintaining the open garage configuration below
✅ Materials staged for continued vertical framing as the structure progresses toward the third floor

Current Progress

The transition from block construction to wood framing marks a major milestone on this build. What was previously a series of structural CMU columns is now supporting a complete engineered floor system, creating the platform for the home's first level of living space.

With second-floor decking in place and exterior walls beginning to rise, the scale and layout of the three-story home are becoming much more visible.

Next Up

Complete second-floor wall framing, continue structural openings and connections, and begin the framing system for the third-floor living space as the home continues moving upward.

A multi-story build depends on every phase working with the one below it—from the foundation and CMU columns to the engineered floor system and vertical framing above. Careful layout, structural coordination, and proper sequencing are what keep the entire structure aligned from the ground up.
