⚠️Many homeowners in Florida are starting to notice a strange sign on their trees.

It looks like tiny toothpicks or spaghetti made of sawdust sticking out of the trunk.

If you see this, your tree may be under attack by ambrosia beetles — tiny insects that bore into trees and introduce fungus that can cause serious damage.

👀 Signs to watch for

• Toothpick-like sawdust sticks coming out of the trunk
• Tiny pin-size holes in the bark
• Fine sawdust around the base of the tree
• Leaves suddenly wilting or branches dying back

🌳 Trees most commonly affected in our area

Magnolia • Maple • Crape Myrtle • Oaks • Fruit Trees • Avocado Trees

These insects usually target trees that are already stressed, especially:

• Newly planted trees
• Trees affected by cold weather
• Trees struggling with drought or root stress

Why this matters?

🚨In the State of Florida, Ambrosia beetle outbreaks spike specifically in February-April. By the time most people notice a problem, the infestation may already be advanced.
