About three weeks ago I invested a chunk into the business with torsion spring winding tools. Instead of winding springs by hand and stressing shoulders, I introduce the Surewinder! The one videos is the smaller of the two and is for residential sized springs. Took one minute to put 15 winds on one spring....something that normally takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

Today's job: servicing two 26'2" wide by 20' tall doors with 12' of highlift, two spring shafts per door and 8 springs total per door. Top spring line was about 34' up from the ground. It sure helps to have the appropriate equipment. Utilized the Genie 3246 scissor lift. Platform raises to 32' high and is 46" wide.

Tuesday's job this week in Farmington area. Removed very old doors and Sears Roebuck openers. Installed Clopay model 4300 doors, R-9.0 fully insulated doors with Liftmaster 83650 chain drive openers. Customer's door framing required some non-standard track mounting versus normal but 100% functional. Saved the customer money from a quote from a Spokane company with inferior doors and carpentry work they insisted would need to be done to the walls. Sometimes you just need to think outside the box!

In November 2023 I installed this 14'x14' door in St Maries area. Around four months later, I removed the door and installed a more energy efficient door with four sections of windows. I bought this door back from the customer. It has sat on my racks at the shop for about 1.5 years. Today, I sold it and installed as a lightly used door, saving this customer about $1000.00 on current pricing for this door. It's a bit dirty but will clean up with the rain.

It's been a while since doing a post about door installations....been quite busy. Here is the latest installation by Kirk's Garage Door Service LLC. Clopay model 3720, 24'2"x16' and Clopay model 3200, 12'2"x16'. Both doors look identical however the larger door is R-18.4 and smaller is R-9.0. LiftMaster operator on large door and Chamberlain opener on smaller door.

Kirk's Garage Door Service LLC in Tekoa WA is in the process of an updated look. One new door of two has been completed. Clopay flush black doors. The one was vinyl wrapped by Signs & Designs by Abundant Faith Studio with old Glory on the top four sections (14' wide by 8' tall). July 22nd the other door will be vinyl stenciled with a different flag! Stay tuned!
