Improvise when you can’t find what you envisioned in the stores!
I didn’t get to shop as early as I needed before it was all gone. Ugh!
My vision was to turn one of my small pencil trees into a fun candy themed tree, but every time I had the opportunity to shop, everything was gone.
So, I scrummage through my craft room in hopes to make something with whatever I could make that I had on hand.
Going with the theme, I started making candy snowball pom-poms. Again…it may not be what you hoped for, but with a little creativity and using what you already have around the house, you can create something really cute.
The darling candy canes and wrapped candy ornaments were purchased .
It’s not as elaborate as I dreamt, but it will do for this year.
Pom-Pom’s
Wrap yarn around a piece of cardboard…OR, use your fingers like I did. I wrapped about 35 times around my four fingers. Cut some ribbon or string to tie off the center. Make sure it’s long enough to make an extra loop for hanging on the tree. Once tied off, cut the yarn loops on both sides of your Pom-Pom to create a fluffy ball.
I incorporated a bit of red floss with the white yarn to give it a two tone look.
Happy Holidays!
