After 110 years of faithfully serving our clientele and our friends, King’s Nursery’s retail operations are closed.
Two major factors have led to this decision: 1) Andrew was honored to be named an Assistant Professor of ornamental horticulture by Texas A&M AgriLife in August of 2024 and this opportunity requires his full professional attention, leaving little-to-no time for helping at the nursery. 2) While we could have tried to hire someone to help run the place, that’s never been a viable business model for us AND it wouldn’t be King’s without a King there to greet you!
Ultimately, while we are certainly sad about the end of this era, we look to the future with renewed optimism. We’re not through growing plants! We will continue our new efforts in plant breeding and grow some specialty crops for wholesale. So the family land will still be fruitful!
We would like to say thank you! We thank God for providing for our family via this business for so long. We thank so many of our customers for being much more than customers, but being our true friends. We thank you for your understanding during this bittersweet time and we thank you for your prayers for our family.
