As many of you know I have had an avid interest in creationism for decades. I even structured by Architectural Thesis on the topic. Tomorrow night - Thursday June 13 from 8 PM to 9 PM - I will be a guest on the YouTube Podcast "Nobody's Business" (motto "Respectfully Irreverent") where we will be discussing the topic with particular emphasis on not just the vital importance of creationism but also discussing the age of the earth. Project in Progress: Church on the Rock Texarkana. We needed to remove a column in a former Gander Mountain to improve sight lines for the stage. Removing the column essential doubled the existing span – which obviously required a much deeper beam. As there was not enough head room available to place a larger beam below the existing structure without cutting into AV sight lines, the solution was to place a new beam above the roof for the existing structure to hang from - rather than bear upon.

At the college of Architecture for IIT, Architect Mies Van der Rohe hung the entire roof from beams above the roof. There is always a solution.
