Today is a really hard day for me.
After many years of caring for the city flowerbeds, I was told I won’t be continuing in my role. This job meant so much more to me than just work—I truly loved what I did. Watching those spaces come to life each season and knowing I had a hand in making our community a little more beautiful brought me a lot of joy.
I’m heartbroken, but also incredibly grateful for the years I was given and the chance to do something I genuinely enjoyed.
I especially want to thank the people I worked with at the city for always being supportive and helpful when I needed it, and for giving me this opportunity in the first place. I truly appreciate everything.
Thank you to everyone who ever noticed, complimented, or appreciated the flowers—it meant more than you know.
