Six years ago, I took a leap into an industry I was still learning. I couldn't have imagined then what this business would grow into, or who would be standing alongside me when it did.

If you've met Zoe, you already know what a valuable contributor she is to our team. She's thoughtful, detail-driven, and brings a genuine care to everything she touches, whether she's on a job site at installation, coordinating orders, or supporting the work that happens behind the scenes. Our clients feel that, and it matters.

As her mother, watching her step into a larger role within something I've built is a feeling I don't have the right words for. As a business owner, I'm grateful every day for the team of talented women who bring their skill and dedication to every project that comes through our door.

Six years in, and I'm more proud of what we're building together than I've ever been. đź©·

For this library project, we worked with the existing wooden rod and rings, which meant every detail of the drapery design was thoughtfully planned around the hardware already in place.

Pleat count, pin placement, returns, and finished length all play an important role in how drapery panels function and look once installed. These details determine how the panels stack when open, how much of the window remains visible, and how beautifully the pleats flow from each ring.

The fabric is a rich botanical print accented with a Samuel & Sons trim along the leading edge. When working with a patterned fabric, careful pattern placement becomes part of the craftsmanship. Each pleat is considered so the design remains balanced and the fabric's character is showcased throughout the finished panels.

It's the level of planning and attention to detail behind the scenes that allows a custom drapery installation to feel effortless. Every measurement, specification, and fabrication decision contributes to a finished result that looks tailored to the room and functions beautifully for years to come.

When a designer says the result was "exactly what we envisioned, and more," that's the kind of feedback that means everything.

Working with Arlen Brown of Arlen Sam Brown Design on this project was exactly what a great trade partnership looks like: clear communication, trust in the process, and a shared commitment to getting every detail right. From the fabric selections to the hardware and accessories, every element was specified and fabricated with intention.

This is what we're here for. Designers who bring us into their projects get a team that handles measurements, specifications, ordering, fabrication, and installation, so they can stay focused on the bigger picture. No chasing down details, no costly remakes, no surprises on install day.

If you're a designer working on projects in Savannah, Bluffton, or anywhere in the Lowcountry—or managing a project here from out of town—we'd love to be part of your process. Save this post for when you're ready to connect, or reach out to us directly at the link in bio to schedule a discovery call.

A well-designed primary bedroom is all about layers, and this Palmetto Bluff home was no exception.

We were proud to support Gaston Crue Interiors on this beautiful space by fabricating and installing custom drapery in a lovely Holland & Sherry fabric. These stationary panels, layered over shutters, add softness and structure to this serene bedroom retreat.

Collaborating closely with the designer ensures that our work complements the broader vision, down to the last detail.

One of my favorite past projects just hit the market, and if you happen to be looking for a custom designed luxury condo at Eastern Wharf, this is your opportunity.

This 4-story brick waterfront townhome was purchased during construction, which meant we had a rare opportunity to be involved from the beginning—consulting on power placement, specifying motorized drapery in the primary bedroom, and designing custom treatments for every room from the ground up.

The owners love art and community, and the home reflects that: 180-degree views of the Savannah River on every level, neutral fabrics throughout with visual interest built through texture and layering, and spaces designed to feel as comfortable for guests as they do for everyday life. Morning coffee watching the container ships—that kind of home.

It was a genuine pleasure collaborating with Arlen Sam Brown Design to bring this one to life. Head to the blog for an inside look at the window treatment decisions that went into it. If you're interested in scheduling a showing, be sure to reach out to Staci Donegan .

Six years ago this month, I became the owner of Savannah Window Fashions, a business with over 30 years of history in this city, and a legacy I was determined to honor and build on.

June 2020 wasn't exactly a calm time to take the leap. But looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. The challenges of those early months shaped how we work, how we communicate, and how we show up for every client and project.

This work has always been rooted in something deeper for me: a genuine love for beautiful homes, thoughtful craftsmanship, and the kind of detail that most people never notice but always feel. That hasn't changed. If anything, it's only grown stronger.

And so has the team. One of the things I'm most grateful for is getting to work alongside my daughter Zoe every day. There's something pretty special about building something with her at my side.

To everyone who has trusted us with their homes over these six years: thank you. We don't take that lightly, and we're excited for what's to come.đź’•

Custom window treatments have the ability to do more than solve for privacy and light—they can completely change how a space feels and functions.

For this primary closet, the goal was to bring in color and personality while still protecting clothing from harsh sunlight. This relaxed Roman shade, fabricated in a vibrant Kasmir fabric, adds a layer of interest that feels intentional the moment you walk in.

Designed with a cordless lift system, it’s as practical as it is impactful: easy to use, tailored to the window, and made specifically for how this space is lived in.

A thoughtful solution that turns an everyday room into something a little more special. đź’•

Early design conversations are where the foundation for a successful project is set.

We recently spent time with designer Dana Bacher working through selections for a new construction home, layering materials, comparing woven wood options, and coordinating fabrics with wallpaper and finishes across each space.

These sessions are about more than choosing what looks good together. We’re considering how each window treatment will function, how materials will perform over time, and how everything ties into the overall plan from day one.

This level of collaboration early in the process allows us to move forward with clarity, so when it’s time for fabrication and installation, every detail has already been thoughtfully resolved 🤍

Behind every well-executed window treatment is a series of decisions most people never see.

At the IWCE, time with our vendors is always a priority. And this year, working through a complex project with the team at Ang Bejar was a standout. What had been weeks of refining details came together in one conversation, with solutions, specifications, and pricing clarified on the spot.

That level of collaboration matters. It allows us to resolve challenges early, make informed recommendations, and move forward with confidence, especially on projects with unique conditions and custom requirements.

It’s a key part of how we deliver thoughtful, well-planned results for our clients and design partners.
