I know I’ve been horrible about house updates, so here’s the first house update of the year!
INTERIOR:
- countertops got installed in the kitchen and pantry yesterday!!
- oven and stovetop are in place and working
- both bathroom floors are done and the shower wall in the hallway bath has been started
- closet shelves are built (and the boys have already moved some of their toys into their playroom😂)
- fireplace is 99% done
- all the fans have been installed
EXTERIOR:
- almost done with the siding batten strips
- most of the windows have been trimmed
- french drain has been started
- septic is done
- rocks for driveway around to the back of the house are done

Haven’t done a feed post update in a while, so I figured it was time! Roof is very close to being done, kitchen cabinets...

Haven’t done a feed post update in a while, so I figured it was time! Roof is very close to being done, kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities are in place, and I started on the first accent wall! Once the roof is done, next will be flooring and tiling the bathrooms (I think😂)! Yesterday was 1 year since we poured the foundation and now we’re just a few months away from being done!🙌🏻

Monday marked 2 years since we moved out of our house and into an RV on our 30 acres. While we definitely didn’t plan on being in an RV for this long, I know it’ll all be worth it in the end! Most of the exterior framing is done and it’s so cool to finally see our plans taking shape.🥹

We FINALLY poured the foundation and I’m so happy I could cry!🥹 I feel like I’ve been waiting for this day for over a year and a half and I could barely believe we finally got to this point until I saw the cement trucks out the window this morning. The dirt work was a lot more than we originally thought and I’m so grateful to my husband and all the family and friends who came out to help us get it done.❤️ next step: framing!!🤩

My biggest hesitation with wood cabinets is that I also want wood look floors, so I went back and forth on if we should try to color match the cabinets and the floor or do completely opposite wood colors or somewhere in between. The plan is for white cabinets on the walls (no uppers, just lowers and wood floating shelves) and the island will be wood cabinets. We got our cabinet door sample in the mail yesterday and I immediately put it next to the flooring sample we have. What do y’all think?!
