Spring is right around the corner!

And with Spring comes warmer weather, which in itself brings the need for AC. Do you know what the need for AC brings?

👉Recalibrate the thermostat
👉Redo the thermostat wiring
👉Clean it
👉Make sure your old-model mechanical thermostat is level
👉Reboot it if it’s frozen

Oh no! Does your AC or heat pump look colder than you? Take these steps before you ring for a pro!

👉Turn your thermostat off and fan on turn the AC unit off using your thermostat. This stops the cooling. Now switch the fan on. Not auto, on. It will blow warm air onto the coil and speed up the defrost.

👉Now wait. Give the frozen evaporator coil, and/or refrigerant line time to thaw. This may take up to a full day in extreme situations.

👉Second, check and replace your air filters If needed. Even a little dirt can obstruct the normal flow of air.

👉Next, inspect your vents and look for anything that may be blocking them on either side and clear it away.

👉After you have performed all these steps, turn on your air conditioner to see if it still freezes up and accumulates ice. In that case, you might need professional assistance.
