One of the biggest misconceptions I encounter when working with clients on their kitchen or bathroom renovations is the idea that custom cabinetry is vastly more expensive than a semi-custom, big box option. It’s not… at least not in my experience with a clean, modern cabinetry design. Maybe when you get into the world of embellishments, steel doors, custom glass, etc. You might find you save 10-15% with a Lowe’s or Home Depot line and in that savings, you would be limited to size options available, color or finish options. If your budget is tight, it’s still worth getting bids for both, you may have to have some flexibility with your design, but don’t be shocked when the price difference isn’t as huge as 25-50%.

It’s been almost 8 years here, a lot of work, but I’ve come to the realization that I’m not really a mid century modern fan it’s time to sell. I’ll realize my 8 month long dream of owning a sheep farm, Mary had a little lamb after all. With the sheep farm, I’ll dive deep into the beloved modern farm house aesthetic and those gorgeous signs that label the verb for each room in the house. Put on your reader’s folks! 🤓
